Marvel sold to Disney for $4 billion.

Marvel sold to Disney for $4 billion.

It seems the deal has gone through. Disney have bought Marvel Entertainment – $4 billion in cash and stock.
Planned films by Marvel in the pipline such as Iron MAn 2 will still be made, but how the future of Marvel will shape up is in-known.

Marvel still has contracts with Hollywood studios e.g. Paramount.   20th Century Fox still produces “X-Men”, and Sony still owns the rights to “Spider-Man” movies.
The pluses to Marvel, Disney are essentially Pixar and ABC, so future Pixar based films and Tv series look likely.

The worries – watered down characters and a ‘corporate view’ of all things in the Marvel universe from now on. Not the close, specialist family of MArvel. I hope the Marvel team stay on and Disney see MArvel as the entity they are and have created since their start and not just another aquisition.
