Taylor Lautner Was Approached For X-Men: First Class

After his breakout turn as shape-shifter in “New Moon,” Taylor Lautner landed roles in the thriller “Abduction,” and the superhero flick “Stretch Armstrong.”

Lautner, though, won’t be joining up with the mutant superheroes, which is seemingly fine by Hugh Jackman, who played Wolverine in the previous “X-Men” films. Asked recently if Lautner could play a young Wolverine, Jackson said, “My only question is, can he grow mutton chops? … Actually, I think we probably prefer him as a hairless Wolverine than a rather hairy-chested one.”
