Rose Byrne is a MAYBE for X-Men:first class role

Over at Reuters, reporting Damages star Rose Byrne is in negotiations for Fox’s X-Men First Class.

Director Matthew Vaughn is up for a London shoot at the end of this month. The full movie stroy is still under wraps, but the plot WILL slowly emerge.
Byrne will play Moira MacTaggert, a scientist and authority on genetic mutations and the x-gene. She’ll be the love interest of Xavier – James McAvoy.
Byrne received her second Emmy nomination for her work opposite Glenn Close in “Damages.” The Australian actress is shooting Universal comedy “Bridesmaids” with Kristen Wiig and appeared in this summer’s “Get Him to the Greek.” Also among her film credits are “28 Weeks Later” and “Troy.”
